Hi Everyone,
Here is our KSC Discovery Club adventure for January
Mississippi Sandhill Crane National Wildlife Refuge
January 27
8:15 at the refuge (if you live in that direction)
7:30 (departing 7:35) at the Bay Breeze
The refuge has arranged for us to see the cranes on a van excursion and we will also tour the visitor center and watch the film.
There is a short, 3/4 mile trail if the weather permits and they will arrange for someone to guide our hike.
If you meet us at the refuge, these are the directions: take Exit 61 on the I-10 and go north, it will be about a mile on the
right and follow to Visitor center.
Please RSVP to me by Monday 23 January. I will call them Tuesday and give them our headcount, so they can arrange for drivers.
This should be a fun outing and I hope you can join us!

Hi Everyone,
Hope you are all enjoying your Thanksgiving Holiday. Hard to believe November is almost gone. Sorry we missed Bellingrath in
November, but not enough days to do everything, lol. We may try again in the April.
December is another busy month, so I have picked something easy and relaxing. If you would like to join us for lunch, we will
be meeting at the Half Shell Oyster House in Biloxi for lunch on 2 December at 11:30. Please let me know by 30 November so I can
make reservations. The Half Shell was very generous in donating for our auction, so I thought it might be nice for us to support
them.

Hi Everyone,
Here are the details for the Discovery Club outing in October.
You may join us for both activities or just part of the day. We are flexible, but I do need a head count, because we need
reservations (you may pay at the institue prior to taking the tour).
Please RSVP by Sunday 23 October. I will make our reservations on Monday 24 October.

Hi Everyone,
Just a reminder about tomorrows outing. We will meet at the club between 8:45 and 8:55. We will first go to the Gulf
Island National Seashore, then lunch at The Shed, and a quick stop at the Sandhill crane refuge.
I would wear good shoes for our short hike and maybe some bug spray and suntan lotion. Don't for get the cameras. It should
be a fun day!

Gulf Island National Seashore

Not sure of the weather, but dress accordingly. Bug spray, a hat, and sneakers may be beneficial.
Gulf Island National Seashore
We will take a short hike (less than a mile). Good photo ops, maybe an alligator, so you might want your camera :)
We will tour the visitor center and watch a film about the Gulf Island National Seashore (it runs from LA to FL)
We are flexible, so we can adjust our time as needed.
The Shed
If the weather is good, we will eat outside and BBQ is the main attraction (chicken is available if you are not into pork or beef)
MS Sandhill Crane Refuge
This will be a fairly quick stop. I want you to know where it is located and what they have available. We will head back in
January for a tour and see the cranes.
We will meet at the Bay Breeze Events Center between 8:45 and 8:55. We will leave promptly at 9:00.
We will carpool, but if you want to be able to leave earlier, there will be no problem with you driving or maybe a group
who needs to be back early can ride together.
Please let me know if you are able to drive (Ocean Springs is our destination)
We will be back by 3:00 for those who need to get children.
Please email me by 27 September if you would like to join us, just so I have an idea. Since there is no cost to this
outing, other than lunch, I am very flexible. If you have to drop out or decide to join us late, no problem, just shoot me
an email.
